Children's Ministry
3 years old through 5th Grade

Children are important at St. Mark's! We strive to make Jesus real and accessible to kids right from birth by showing, sharing, and living out he love of Christ in all that we do and helping kids know that God loves them and that He has a plan for their lives.

FROLIC (Birth - age 3)
At St. Mark’s, we know that those first years of life can be challenging for new parents! We strive to support families with young children by offering nursery care during worship, fellowship opportunities, and a monthly e-newsletter with parenting tips and suggestions for ways to bring God’s littlest ones up in faith!

J.A.M. (Jesus And Me)  (Ages 3 - Grade 5)
JAM is the name of our Sunday School program which is offered during the school year on both Wednesday evenings from 6:30-7:30 pm and Sunday mornings from 10:15-11:15 am. JAM engages children in Christian learning and fellowship through music, worship, drama, food & science, arts & crafts, games, service, and other activities. Our Rotation curriculum presents each Bible story in a variety of settings, so that every type of learner can experience God in a way that is meaningful and fun for them. As children learn and experience God’s love, they also make life-long connections with other children and with caring leaders who will not only teach the lesson but be the lesson.

SUMMER JAM (Ages 3 - Grade 5)
Summer JAM is offered during the 10:15 outdoor worship service approximately every-other-Sunday through the summer. Kids begin in worship, enjoy a Children’s Message, and then are dismissed to Fellowship Hall for lessons, crafts, activities, and fun!

Vacation Bible School (Ages 3 - Grade 5)
Each year, during the second week of July, St. Mark’s is transformed into a wild ‘n’ crazy, fun-filled place for kids to experience God’s love in life-changing ways! From 9:00 am-12:00 noon Monday through Friday, kids enjoy Bible adventures, games, crafts, music, and snacks with other kids, youth helpers, adult leaders, and St. Mark’s staff-and they walk away not only with amazing memories, but with the knowledge that God loves them and will walk beside them every day of their lives! This is also a great chance for Jr. High and High School youth (and many adult helpers) to share God’s love in a fun and meaningful way!

Joyful Noise Choir (1st – 5th grade) Wednesdays
This choir gives children a fun introduction to faith-based music, as well as the opportunity to learn from older youth in the Colla Voce Choir (6-12th grade). Dorothea Jirsa is the choir director. Join Mrs. Jirsa for rehearsals on Wednesdays evenings in the Chapel (September to May) from 4:45 to 5:45. The children sing during the 10:15 worship about 2 times a month.

Hot Buttered Popcorn Drama Ministry (1st – 5th grades)
Hot Buttered Popcorn is the drama ministry program for Sunday school age children.
Children have a chance to learn a great Bible story, be a Bible character, a hero or a villain, wear a costume, sing, dance and play, play, play.
