Local Missions

Ministry doesn't just take place inside the walls of the building, but through the actions of the people of the church outside their walls. This ministry provides a variety of faith-filled opportunities to witness the gospel through service and outreach projects in various settings. Included in this ministry are Soup Sundays, Safe House, The Gift Goes On, Thanksgiving baskets, School Supply Collection, Ramsey County Nursing Home, Ramsey Family Shelter, Ronald McDonald House, Emergency Food Shelf, and Polar Packs.

North St. Paul Food Shelf
Volunteers stock shelves, check-in donations, clean up, register clients/phone work and pack groceries.

Ramsey Nursing Home
A group from St. Mark’s have a BINGO activity with snacks and prizes for 34-45 residents on the first Monday of each month at 2 pm.

Ramsey Family Shelter
This ministry shops, cooks, serves dinner and cleans up afterwards on the third Friday of each month at the homeless shelter run by Catholic Charities for Ramsey County. Groceries are furnished by St. Mark’s.

Ronald McDonald House
The purpose of this ministry is to help a family in crisis by serving them a hot meal at the Ronald McDonald House in Minneapolis on the first Saturday of each month. The meal is prepared at the RMH together as a group.

Polar Packs
In 2012, St. Mark’s launched the Polar Pack program in cooperation with North High School. Polar Pack backpacks can be picked up after worship, filled with food from a list within, and returned to the church the following week. They are designed to provide food for a family of four over the course of one weekend. For students attending North High, where the backpacks are distributed, this is a real lifeline for their families. Polar Packs help 50 families each week.
