Worship at St. Mark's
We gather for worship services every Sunday and Wednesday at St. Mark's. We worship in lots of different ways - both traditional and contemporary. When you come to a worship service at St. Mark's, we hope you'll free to worship God as the spirit moves you.
Traditional Worship, Sundays at 8:45 am
This service invites us to connect with God in traditional and time-honored ways. We sing hymns with rich texts and beautiful tunes. We confess together the Apostles' Creed and pray in familiar patterns. We read and teach from the Bible. The style of this worship tends to be more formal, but heart-felt. Traditional worship includes people of all generations, and children are always welcome and included. Communion is served every Sunday. This service often features the adult Choir of St. Mark's in addition to a variety of guest musicians.
Contemporary Worship, Sundays at 10:15 am
This lively service invites connections with God that are informal. The service utilizes a projection system and we sing contemporary arrangements of familiar hymns and songs that have been written more recently. We worship God with great reverence, but the style is laid back. We read and teach from the Bible, pray together, and sing praise to God. Contemporary worship includes people of all generations; you’re never too young or too old to worship God with all your heart. Communion is served every Sunday and our praise band "The Morning Psalm" is featured each week. Sunday J.A.M (Jesus and Me) is offered for children ages 3 yrs-5th grade and the nursery is available for infants and younger children.
Outdoor Worship, Memorial Day – Labor Day
This IS Minnesota after all, so we believe in taking advantage of every moment we can spend outdoors. During the summer months we take the 10:15 service outside every Sunday as weather permits. This service is informal – come as you are and worship in the beauty of God’s creation! The service is held on the west side of the building of the building. Shaded areas are available. Three community picnics are held during the summer.
Family Worship Service, Wednesdays at 6:00 pm
Our Wednesday nights at St. Mark's offer something for everyone. Our service starts at 6:00 pm, and this family-friendly half-hour will feature a sermon based on the Sunday's message, suitable for everyone. It includes a blend of kid friendly songs and old favorites, and Lenten services, too. The education hour for confirmation and JAM kids, plus adult classes on relevant topics will follow from 6:30 - 7:30 pm. The evening ends with a High School Bible study from 7:30 - 8:30 pm, as well as drama rehearsals. Parents are a welcome part of worship and learning, and you can make Wednesdays your complete Sabbath experience. Remember, Wednesdays are not just for confirmation any more!
